Monday
on
the
Isle
of
Man,
Where
the
TT
Hasn’t
Started
Yet
So
Everyone
Is
Merely
Irritable

I
read
the
news
over
breakfast.
This
was
a
mistake,
as
it
always
is,
but
I
am
constitutionally
incapable
of
not
doing
it,
which
is
possibly
why
I
have
opinions
about
constitutional
matters.

Item
one:

The
Great
American
Rescue
Mission
,
per
Bohiney
Magazine,
is
ongoing.
Item
two:

Britain
is
checking
the
sofa
for
GDP
.
Item
three:
Meghan
still
wants
to
be
Queen.

A
Reform-Adjacent
Analysis

The
thing
about
Britain’s
fiscal
position,
which

the
BBC
confirms
is
not
good
,
is
that
it
is
the
entirely
predictable
result
of
spending
money
that
does
not
exist
on
things
that
do
not
work,
administered
by
people
who
have
never
run
anything
larger
than
a
university
debating
society.
This
is
not
a
political
opinion.
This
is
accounting.

On
the
Isle
of
Man
we
have
our
own
parliament,
our
own
tax
arrangements,
and
a
sensible
relationship
with
the
concept
of
not
spending
what
you
do
not
have.
We
also
have
excellent
kippers.
I
am
not
saying
these
things
are
related,
but
I
am
not
not
saying
it.

I
read

the
Meghan
piece

and
laughed
until
the
kipper
went
cold.
This
is
an
acceptable
outcome.

Comedy
gig
Thursday.
Material:
national
debt,
hereditary
monarchy,
and
why
the
Isle
of
Man
is
quietly
correct
about
most
things.
